Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has explained that the Cikarang KRL service will return to normal from this afternoon. Full operations of the KRL service are assured after the evacuation of the accident at Bekasi Timur Station is complete. Nevertheless, the Minister is awaiting a decision from the National Transport Safety Committee (KNKT), which is investigating yesterday’s incident, before starting full KRL service operations. Currently, tests on the rail tracks, signalling system, and other technical aspects are being conducted for the safety of passengers. If everything is deemed normal, full KRL operations will be implemented immediately. Subsequently, KRL trains will be able to pass through Bekasi Timur Station and onwards to Cikarang. “Along with developments in the handling on the ground, services are planned to resume gradually up to the Bekasi–Cikarang line this afternoon,” explained Anne, quoted from Kompas.com, Wednesday (29/4/2026). Thus, KRL journeys are still limited to Bekasi Station. “In the morning, KRL journeys are still limited only to Bekasi Station,” said Anne. “The team on the ground continues to carry out the evacuation carefully. We ensure that journeys will only be operated after all safety aspects are met,” said Anne.
