Transport Minister Ensures Smooth Eid Exodus Flow for 1447 H, Peak Return Flow Predicted on H+3
Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has assured that all transportation facilities and public services during the Eid al-Fitr exodus and return for 1447 Hijriah will run safely, smoothly, and optimally. He conveyed this while monitoring the Transport Information and Communication Technology Centre (Pusintrans) at the Ministry of Transport headquarters in Jakarta on Saturday.
According to Dudy, the government is committed to maintaining service quality until the return flow period ends. He stated that the peak of the outbound flow occurred on 18 March 2026 (H-3), with a surge in movements across nearly all modes of transport. Meanwhile, the peak return flow is estimated to take place on 24 March 2026 (H+3).
To support smooth travel, the Ministry of Transport provides digital-based monitoring services through the Nusantara Hub Live Streaming platform. This channel allows the public to access real-time information on traffic conditions, weather, and density at various transport nodes.
“Through this official channel, the public can adjust their travel times and routes based on actual field conditions,” said Dudy.
The monitoring is integrated with the 2026 Integrated Lebaran Transport Command Post, which serves as the national coordination centre. Additionally, the public can access information and complaint services through the 151 contact centre.
In the field, vehicle flow from the west towards Semarang was still monitored on Eid al-Fitr day. Based on data from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate Security Post, the volume of vehicles entering Semarang from 06:00 to 18:00 WIB reached 16,841 units, while vehicles heading towards Jakarta were recorded at 10,569 units.
Traffic flow was relatively calm in the morning, with around 200–300 vehicles per hour. However, entering the afternoon to evening, the volume increased to more than 2,000 vehicles per hour. Nevertheless, the density remained relatively controlled.
Previously, the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps had halted the national one-way traffic engineering on the Trans-Java Toll Road, which applied from KM 70 Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate. This policy was implemented since 18 March 2026 to ease congestion during the peak outbound flow.
In the railway sector, PT Kereta Api Indonesia Regional IV Tanjungkarang Division recorded 39,678 passengers using train services during the period of 11–21 March 2026. The peak movement occurred on 18 March with 3,928 passengers.
