Transport Minister Appreciates Polri's Precision Free Homecoming Programme: Public No Longer Needs to Travel by Motorbike
Transport Minister (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi has expressed appreciation for the Mudik Gratis Polri Presisi 2026 programme. Dudy stated that this programme greatly assists the public, allowing them to forgo travelling by motorbike.
“I also wish to convey my appreciation for the programme carried out by Polri today to facilitate free homecoming. This will greatly help the public so that they no longer need to use two-wheeled vehicles for their journeys home,” said Dudy Purwagandhi at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
“A commendable programme; hopefully, this will reduce unwanted incidents during the public’s homeward journeys,” he added.
Dudy noted that travelling by bus encourages the public to plan their trips properly. He hopes that the homecomers will arrive safely at their hometowns.
“The hope is that they will reach their hometowns and then return to their respective homes safely, comfortably, and certainly without incident,” he stated.
He mentioned that, to date, homecoming activities by land, sea, and air have proceeded well and smoothly. He urged homecomers to follow the instructions and guidance from officials during their travels.
“I urge homecomers to plan their journeys properly and to comply with the directions and instructions from on-site personnel so that the travels can proceed even more smoothly,” he said.
For information, the launch of the Mudik Gratis Polri Presisi 2026 was conducted directly by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at Polda Metro Jaya. Attendees included Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Ret.) General TNI Djamari Chaniago, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, and Head of Traffic Corps of Polri Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho. Relevant stakeholders were also present.
The event’s highlight was marked by the flag-off ceremony at the departure podium. By waving the starting flag, the National Police Chief officially released the convoy of buses that will transport homecomers to various destinations in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. In total, 4,009 homecomers were dispatched using 80 buses.
