Transport Minister and Health Minister Strengthen Health Facilities at Transport Hubs for Lebaran 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has enlisted Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to reinforce health facilities at various transport hubs to support the smooth operation and safety of Lebaran transport in 2026, while ensuring readiness of medical services for travellers.

“To maintain smooth service, we appeal for the support of the Ministry of Health to increase health facilities, especially at the busiest hubs for movement of public transport by mode,” the minister said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

The Transport Minister said they had held a coordination meeting on the readiness of Lebaran 2026 transport arrangements with Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/3).

He described the coordination as a synergistic effort by the Ministry of Transport to strengthen health facilities at transport hubs during the mudik and balik Lebaran period without obstacles, including health aspects during the journey.

“These posts function as resting places as well as emergency medical checks for travellers and drivers who experience health problems on the journey,” the Transport Minister said.

Dudy also supported the deployment of emergency response teams and motorcycle ambulances to provide rapid response if a traffic accident occurs or there is a medical emergency on mudik routes that are difficult for four-wheeled vehicles to pass.
