Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The working meeting (raker) of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) with the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), the Ministry of Public Works (PU), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), and related parties, originally scheduled for Wednesday (13/5/2026) today, was forced to be postponed because Transport Minister (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi did not attend the meeting.

Six members of Commission V of the DPR stated that the meeting would be postponed until the Transport Minister could attend the raker. Meanwhile, two members chose to proceed with the meeting, reasoning that the Ministry of Transportation had delegated the Deputy Transport Minister, Suntana.

However, the Chairman of Commission V of the DPR, Lasarus, decided to postpone or reschedule the meeting.

“Based on the opinions from the members, where six members chose to postpone the raker, while two members chose to proceed, and in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations, we have decided to reschedule this raker until the Transport Minister can attend,” said Lasarus.

For information, the meeting was attended by Deputy Transport Minister Suntana, Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo, Head of Basarnas Mohamad Syafii, Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) Soerjanto Tjahjono, President Director of KAI Bobby Rasyidin, and other related parties.

The raker was set to discuss the train accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek with the KRL Commuter Line at Bekasi Timur Station, a truck collision with the Dhoho Commuter Line train, and the ALS bus accident with a tanker truck.

Lasarus added that, in addition to the laws and regulations and the majority of Commission V members choosing to postpone, another reason for the postponement is that these issues concern the attention of many members of the public, so they need to be discussed carefully to avoid controversy.

“Why was the meeting postponed? Because these problems indeed concern the attention of many people, so they must receive explanations from the person directly responsible, who is the Transport Minister,” he explained.

Previously, Transport Minister Dudy had also sent two letters to the leadership of Commission V of the DPR RI, namely the reason for still awaiting a comprehensive investigation by the KNKT and a letter to delegate the Deputy Transport Minister to attend the meeting.
