Transport and Warehousing Growth Projected at 7.69 Per Cent
JAKARTA – Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) projects that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the transport and warehousing sector will reach Rp1,713.24 trillion by 2027, representing a growth rate of 7.69 per cent.
This figure marks an increase from the projected Rp1,597.55 trillion in 2026 and the realised Rp1,466.26 trillion in 2025. More specifically, the transport sub-sector GDP is projected to reach Rp1,340.91 trillion by 2027 with a growth of 7.59 per cent, while the warehousing sub-sector is expected to reach Rp372.33 trillion with a higher growth rate of 10.65 per cent.
These prospects demonstrate that the roles of transport, warehousing, and connectivity are becoming increasingly vital in supporting economic activities, goods distribution, trade, industry, and market development. However, these growth opportunities are accompanied by challenges such as global uncertainty, cost pressures, changing demand, investment needs, and the demand for increased supply chain efficiency.
To discuss these developments, SCI will host the Indonesia Economic Outlook (IEO) 2027 from 6–8 October 2026 at the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta. This fifth annual national conference will carry the theme “Driving Growth in a Fragmented Global Economy: Strategy, Resilience & Business Expansion for 2027.”
“Growth in the transport and warehousing sector must be accompanied by increased productivity, network optimisation, the use of technology, and strengthened collaboration between players. The business world needs to translate economic prospects into appropriate strategic decisions to face 2027,” said Setijadi, Founder & CEO of Supply Chain Indonesia.
IEO 2027 is designed as a strategic forum for business leaders, professionals, investors, regulators, academics, and other stakeholders to gain cross-sector perspectives and formulate business growth and expansion agendas. The scope of the Indonesia Economic Outlook extends beyond the transport and warehousing sectors, covering global economic developments, potential geopolitical conflicts, trade fragmentation, national economic prospects, and their implications for business strategy, resilience, investment, and expansion.
The three-day programme will cover global and Indonesian economic prospects, food security, domestic trade, business cost structures, intelligent supply chains, consumer industries, logistics and connectivity, investment and financing, manufacturing, energy, as well as leadership and business transformation.
In addition to the seminar, IEO 2027 will feature networking activities, a Business & Innovation Expo, and the presentation of the “Indonesia Logistics Awards (ILA) 2026,” a prestigious national event recognising companies, institutions, and individuals that demonstrate excellence and contribute significantly to national logistics development.
