Transport Agency Permits Angled Parking on Mayjen Sutoyo Road in Cawang
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is permitting vehicles to park on the west side of Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo (towards Tanjung Priok), Cawang, East Jakarta, using a 45-degree angled parking pattern, except between 06:00 and 10:00 WIB. Meanwhile, on the east side (towards Cililitan), parking is allowed with a parallel pattern, except between 16:00 and 20:00 WIB on weekdays. Head of DKI Jakarta Dishub Budi Awaluddin stated in Jakarta on Friday that outside these hours, vehicles may continue to park in accordance with the provisions regulated through on-site signage. Earlier on Friday, DKI Dishub, together with the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and supported by elements of the TNI and Polri, took action against vehicles parked improperly along Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo. Budi said the enforcement was carried out to restore the road’s function so it remains safe, orderly, and comfortable for road users, and to ensure road conditions comply with the applicable traffic signs at the location. “Before towing, officers gave vehicle owners 10 minutes to move their vehicles,” Budi said. He stressed that enforcement will continue in stages at various locations, based on field evaluations and public input. “Enforcement is carried out fairly, without discrimination, and consistently. All vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, parked in violation of regulations will be subject to enforcement in accordance with applicable rules,” Budi asserted. DKI Jakarta Dishub urges all members of the public to obey traffic signs and utilise official parking locations available around the area. The public is also encouraged to use public transport as a daily mobility option so that road functions are maintained and traffic can flow more orderly and smoothly.
