Bandung (ANTARA) - The Transport Agency (Dishub) of Bandung Regency, West Java, recorded 2.6 million vehicles passing through the Nagreg route during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return period in 2026, counted from H-7 to H+8.

Ruddy Heryadi, Coordinator of Public Relations for the Eid Security Post of the Bandung Regency Transport Agency, in Bandung on Monday, stated that the number of vehicles passing was greater for eastward movement during the homecoming compared to westward during the return.

“Based on the data we have collected, 2,605,591 vehicles passed through Nagreg during the Eid period, with details of 1,328,781 vehicles eastward during the homecoming and 1,276,810 vehicles westward during the return,” he explained.

He noted that this figure represents an increase compared to the 2025 Eid homecoming period, which previously recorded 2,559,068 vehicles.

“Two-wheeled vehicles dominated with 772,031 heading east and 823,915 heading west,” he said.

On that occasion, he mentioned that the peak homecoming flow occurred on H-2 before Eid with 150,716 vehicles passing in one day.

The peak return flow occurred on H+3 after Eid with 149,030 vehicles heading towards Bandung over 24 hours.

Traffic conditions on the Nagreg route during the Eid period were monitored as relatively controlled, without significant surges on any particular day, with density tending to be evenly distributed from the start to the end of the homecoming and return period.

He explained that although they had predicted a potential second peak on H+7 and H+8, field conditions did not show significant surges because vehicle volumes were already more evenly distributed in the preceding days.

“Although the predicted peak was on H+3, in the field it started to get crowded from H+2. Even the potential second peak on H+7 and H+8 was not significant because the vehicle flow was already more even,” he concluded.
