Transparency society on board
JAKARTA (JP): A number of leading officials, politicians, economists and religious leaders have established the Indonesian Transparency Society to promote good governance, a decent society and good business practices.
The transparency society's executive board is chaired by former finance minister Mar'ie Muhammad, with Sudirman Said as executive director and Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas, president of state tin miner PT Tambang Timah, as secretary-general.
Vice chairmen of the executive board are Koesnadi Hardjasoemantri, Marzuki Darusman, Palgunadi T. Setiawan and Sabam Siagian. Economist Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Kemal Stamboel and Arief T. Surowidjoyo are members of the board.
The founders of the society include Minister of Finance Bambang Subianto, National Development Planning Board chairman Boediono, Minister of Education and Culture Juwono Sudarsono, Minister of Mines and Energy Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, Minister of Religious Affairs Malik Fajar, Moslem scholar Nurcholis Madjid, priest Romo Mangunwijaya and Armed Forces chief of sociopolitical affairs Lt. Gen. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. (rid)
