TransNusa Launches New Direct Bali-Phuket Route

PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri (TransNusa) has officially launched a new direct international flight connecting Bali and Phuket, Thailand. TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Bernard Francis said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the opening of the Denpasar (DPS)-Phuket (HKT) route aims to drive tourism growth in the region while strengthening Bali’s position as one of TransNusa’s international hubs. “With the launch of this new route, TransNusa now operates four scheduled international flights from Bali, namely to Perth (Australia), Singapore, Guangzhou (China), and now Phuket (Thailand),” Datuk Bernard stated. He added that the latest international launch further reinforces TransNusa’s vision to make Bali one of its main international connectivity centres in Indonesia. The route launch comes amid rising demand for intra-regional travel, with more tourists seeking unique holiday experiences in Southeast Asia. The Bali–Phuket route is expected to attract tourists, families, digital nomads, and adventure enthusiasts keen to enjoy the rich culture, cuisine, and distinctive attractions of both destinations. “Beyond supporting the tourism sector, this new service is also expected to strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and Thailand through increased business travel and closer people-to-people ties,” Datuk Bernard explained. Tickets for the route are available for purchase from 3 July 2026 via TransNusa’s official website and various online travel agents. The inaugural Denpasar (DPS)-Phuket (HKT) flight is scheduled for 9 September 2026. TransNusa will operate scheduled Denpasar (DPS)-Phuket (HKT) flights four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with fares starting from Rp2,999,000. Last week, TransNusa also announced the launch of a scheduled Jakarta-Bangkok service, set to commence on 6 August 2026.
