East Jakarta, 3 March 2026 – Laznas Yakesma, in partnership with Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı (TDV), distributed 1,000 ifthar packages and 500 Ramadan hampers to communities in Kalisari, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, on Tuesday. The initiative underscores the Indonesia–Türkiye humanitarian collaboration during Ramadan. The distributions were concentrated at Markaz Qur’an Kalisari and involved government authorities, community leaders, and representatives from both organisations. The programme began after the Ashar prayer, with a communal recitation of the Qur’an attended by students and local residents. Abdulhamit EŞMELİ, Head of the Turkish Office of Religious Affairs in Indonesia, attended on behalf of the Turkish Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia. Also present were TDV official Gökhan DİNÇEL, the LAZNAS YAKESMA Board of Directors, Camat Pasar Rebo, police officers, and the recipients. In his address, the TDV representative emphasised a commitment to broadening humanitarian collaboration in Indonesia in line with Türkiye’s global social service mission. The distribution was conducted symbolically by representatives of Türkiye and Laznas Yakesma to the recipients. Romdlon Hidayat, CEO of Laznas Yakesma, stated that the collaboration is a form of humanitarian diplomacy that strengthens ukhuwah between the two nations. “This cooperation not only brings ifthar assistance and Ramadan hampers, but also reinforces the Indonesia–Türkiye brotherhood and drives wider social impact,” said Romdlon. Camat Pasar Rebo Mujiono expressed appreciation for the two organisations’ care for the community in his jurisdiction. Ahead of breaking the fast, the event included an Islamic study on strengthening empathy and social solidarity, followed by a joint prayer and the breaking of the fast. As a national zakat management body, Laznas Yakesma emphasised its commitment to transparency and accountability in managing zakat, infaq, and sadaqah funds. Looking ahead, the two organisations pledged to broaden their humanitarian programme cooperation to extend benefits across Indonesia.
