Transmigration Ministry Holds Free Health Check-ups, Deputy Minister Viva Yoga Calls It a Form of State Responsibility
Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi said the government not only has the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, but also the Free Health Check-up (CKG) programme. “These programmes are derivatives of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision,” Viva Yoga said during the CKG event at the Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans) in Kalibata, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 22 July 2026. Viva Yoga explained that CKG is a form of realisation and state responsibility to build a concept of a country that provides welfare and protects all citizens. “With CKG, we build superior, healthy, creative, and innovative human resources,” he said. The activity, attended by 800 Kementrans employees, is a preventive measure. “Don’t go to the doctor or hospital only when you are sick. Even when healthy, you need to check your body’s condition,” Viva Yoga said. Based on available data, the spread of infectious diseases is currently declining, but diseases such as hypertension, obesity, lung disease, heart disease, and diabetes are showing alarming numbers. According to him, such diseases can arise due to a person’s lifestyle. Viva Yoga wants all Kementrans employees to be healthy, not only physically but also spiritually. “From existing literature, about 20 per cent of diseases come from food and 80 per cent from the mind,” he said. Viva Yoga stated that being healthy is cheap, as long as one routinely exercises, practices mental discipline, manages thoughts, and cultivates emotional balance. “Work must be accompanied by a sense of joy but still with responsibility.” This CKG event was the second one held. Viva Yoga expressed his gratitude to the Director of Referral Health Services, drg. Yuli Astuti Saripawan. “Collaboration with the Ministry of Health has made it possible to hold CKG regularly every year,” Viva Yoga said.
