Transjakarta's Blok M-Soekarno Hatta Airport Route Officially Commences Operations
Jakarta — Transjakarta has officially inaugurated a new Transjabodetabek SH2 route linking Blok M with Soekarno Hatta International Airport on Thursday, 12 March 2026. This new route connects Jakarta and Tangerang City, significantly enhancing regional transport connectivity.
Tangerang Mayor H. Sachrudin stated that the launch of the new Transjakarta route will facilitate public access, particularly for travellers heading to Soekarno Hatta Airport ahead of the Eid mass exodus this year.
“This will undoubtedly enrich and simplify access for residents across the Greater Jakarta region to reach Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Tangerang City,” he said in an official statement on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
He further noted the strategic importance of Tangerang’s location. “Many Tangerang residents commute to the capital in the morning. Tangerang serves as a transit hub, crossed by the Jakarta–Merak expressway, Soekarno Hatta Airport, and national roads including Jalan Daan Mogot and Gatot Subroto,” Sachrudin explained.
Governor Pramono added that ahead of Eid celebrations and during the three-month trial period, the Jakarta provincial government will continue evaluating fares.
The SH2 route from Blok M to Soekarno Hatta Airport will serve 23 stops with a journey duration of approximately 121 minutes. The route spans more than 65.1 kilometres and operates a fleet of 14 buses with headway intervals (time between consecutive buses) of 10 to 20 minutes.
