Transjakarta Transports 1.1 Million Passengers During Eid Holiday
PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) recorded a significant surge in the number of customers during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri holiday period. In total, 1,135,547 TransJakarta users were recorded.
“The peak occurred on 22 March 2026 with a total of 697,519 customers in one day, a sharp increase compared to the previous day which recorded 438,028 customers,” said the Head of Public Relations and CSR Department of Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, in her statement on Thursday (26/3/2026).
“Cumulatively, over two days (21-22 March 2026), Transjakarta has served 1,135,547 customers,” she added.
Ayu said this surge aligns with the enthusiasm of the public celebrating Eid in Jakarta in utilising the Special Rp 1 Fare policy implemented precisely on 21-22 March 2026. This increase reflects the high mobility of residents as well as public trust in public transportation in Jakarta.
“This surge shows that the public is increasingly relying on public transportation for mobility during important moments, such as family visits or tourism during Eid. The Rp 1 fare policy on 21-22 March by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government yesterday is a form of appreciation so that the public celebrating Eid in Jakarta can enjoy safe, comfortable, and highly affordable journeys,” she stated.
Ayu said the density of customers was focused on several strategic stops that provide access to tourist areas as well as routes connecting buffer zones.
