PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) has changed its operating hours during Eid al-Fitr. Bus operations will begin at 9:00 WIB.

“Learning from our experience serving on major holidays, usually on Eid day we adjust the operating hours. To give all employees, especially the bus drivers, the opportunity to observe Eid prayers as well,” said TransJakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza to reporters on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

He said Eid al-Fitr is a holiday and the public is expected to perform Eid prayers and visit relatives in the morning. He said activities are expected to start at 9:00 WIB.

“So we start our operations; we estimate perhaps 9:00 or 10:00. Usually in the early morning people pray in their own environment and their silaturahmi begins at 10:00 or even after Zuhr. So we will adjust the operating hours accordingly,” he said.

In addition to adjusting operating hours, TransJakarta is preparing strategies to cope with the surge in passengers during Lebaran. He said there will be additional buses for routes to tourist destinations such as Ancol, Taman Mini, and Ragunan.

He said all TransJakarta bus services can be used for free during Lebaran 2025. He said the exact date for the fare-free period is still awaiting a decision letter from the Jakarta Department of Transportation (Dinas Perhubungan DKI Jakarta).
