The Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a decision regarding Transjabodetabek fares, which will no longer be a flat rate of Rp3,500, but will instead adjust based on travel distance and service characteristics. This indicates an upcoming adjustment to Transjakarta pricing.

“I previously mentioned that it is impossible for the Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta route to remain at Rp3,500; using Damri or other services averages well above Rp100,000,” stated the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, at the Urban Knowledge Hub, South Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026).

He emphasised that there will be an adjustment to Transjabodetabek fares and that the decision will be announced in the near future. Consequently, Transjabodetabek users are expected to understand that the planned fare adjustments are being made by considering both travel distance and the quality of service provided.

Nevertheless, the government ensures that the decided fares will remain affordable for the community and will support the increased use of public transportation. “Therefore, there will be an adjustment, and the figures will be decided in the near future,” said Pramono.

As is known, Transjakarta began operating a new Transjabodetabek route, namely route SH2: Blok M - Soekarno-Hatta Airport, on 12 March 2026. The Jakarta Provincial Government plans to discuss the fares for this route in the future, with a range of approximately Rp10,000 to Rp15,000. However, Pramono will finalise the fare after the route has been operational for three months.
