Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said TransJakarta will cover the full medical costs for all victims of the bus accident on the elevated Corridor 13 route, commonly referred to as the ‘sky route’. The injured are being treated at several hospitals.

“I have received data from TransJakarta confirming that an accident occurred on the route from Tegal Mampang towards JORR. There were 23 victims and all costs will be fully borne by TransJakarta,” Pramono said in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Monday (23/2/2026).

He explained that two victims were rushed to Bakti Asih Hospital, whilst the remaining 21 are being treated at Sari Asih Hospital. Pramono said the medical treatment would be provided at no cost to the victims.

“This was human error, nothing else. The driver was probably sleep-deprived, causing the bus to cross into the opposing lane and resulting in a collision,” he said.

The head-on collision between two TransJakarta buses on the elevated Corridor 13 ‘sky route’ in Cipulir, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, left dozens of passengers injured. Two of them suffered bone fractures.

“The current recorded number of victims is 23 people, all with minor injuries,” said Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Head Commissioner Budi Hermanto to reporters on Monday (23/2).

Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate Law Enforcement Deputy Head Senior Commissioner Ojo Ruslani said the TransJakarta bus driven by a man identified as A was packed with passengers as the incident coincided with the morning rush hour commute.
