Transjakarta to Close Routes 1N and 10D, CEO Explains Rationale

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) will cease operations of route 1N (Tanah Abang-Blok M) and route 10D (Tanjung Priok-Kampung Rambutan) starting 1 July 2026. The closure follows a management evaluation. CEO Welfizon Yuza stated that the service adjustment is part of a periodic review to optimise customer service. Based on the evaluation, the company decided that services on routes 1N and 10D will only operate until 30 June 2026. “We conduct regular evaluations of every service based on customer travel patterns and operational performance,” he said in a statement on Friday (26/6/2026). He added that the evaluation considered travel patterns and the level of service overlap with other Transjakarta routes traversing the same corridors. Through this adjustment, 25 buses from the two routes will be redeployed to support services on routes with higher travel demand. The additional units will also help reduce waiting times on other routes. The company assessed that this will not reduce public mobility access because alternative routes have been prepared. All public facilities along the affected routes, including 68 points on route 10D and 47 points on route 1N, will remain accessible and well-served by the alternative routes. Yuza emphasised that the service evaluation is part of Transjakarta’s effort to ensure the public transport network remains adaptive to customer needs. “This adjustment is made so that the fleet can be utilised more optimally while maintaining overall service quality. We have also prepared alternative travel options so customers can continue to travel comfortably,” he said. For customers who previously used route 1N, Transjakarta has prepared the following alternatives: To Blok M, use route 9D from Tanah Abang and transit at the Plaza Sentral bus stop to continue with route 1P. To Tanah Abang, use route 1P from Blok M and transit at the Benhil 3 bus stop to continue with route 9D.
