Transjakarta Subscription Scheme at Rp200,000 per Month Considered a Cost-Saving Solution

Transport observer Deddy Herlambang has stated that a proposed Transjakarta subscription scheme priced at Rp200,000 per month could be a cost-saving solution for regular users. He noted that if the regular fare rises to Rp5,000, daily commuters making round trips over 25 working days would spend Rp250,000 per month. The subscription scheme would therefore offer a saving of Rp50,000. The Jakarta Transportation Council (DTKJ) proposed the scheme alongside the planned fare adjustment, aiming to provide a 20 per cent discount for frequent users. Council member Sugihardjo explained that the calculation is based on the assumption of a commuter making two trips per day for 25 working days a month.
