Transjakarta Strengthens Routes and 24-Hour Services to Welcome Return Flow

JAKARTA - Facing the surge in mobility during the Eid al-Fitr return flow in 2026, Transjakarta’s bus operations are being extended to provide 24-hour services. In addition, there is a significant strengthening of routes integrated with stations and terminals, increasing capacity by 20-50% compared to regular days. This measure is aimed at anticipating the rise in customer numbers from main arrival points such as railway stations and intercity bus terminals, which are expected to peak at the end of March. Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, stated that this strategy represents an adjustment from normal operational patterns to Eid demand-based operations. Unlike regular operations, during the period of 13-29 March 2026, Transjakarta is emphasising intermodal connectivity (first-last mile). The strengthened routes include BRT services such as Corridor 2A (Pulo Gadung - Rawa Buaya via Balaikota), 4D (Pulo Gadung - Kuningan), and 7F (Kampung Rambutan - Juanda via Cempaka Putih), as well as several Integrated Public Transport (AUI) services like Tanah Abang–Blok M, Senen–Tanah Abang, and Manggarai - Blok M. Service enhancements are focused on strategic locations, including: At these locations, Transjakarta ensures higher bus availability than on regular days, while accelerating headways to avoid passenger congestion. Specifically, the addition of 11 bus units at Pulo Gebang Terminal on 25-27 March 2026 is being implemented in response to the peak return flow.
