Transjakarta Staff Swiftly Assist Passenger Experiencing Seizures on Bus in East Jakarta
A Transjakarta passenger fell ill while travelling on a bus, leading to a video of Transjakarta staff acting swiftly to assist the individual going viral on social media. The footage shows Transjakarta personnel promptly transporting the unwell passenger via wheelchair and disembarking them from the bus.
Responding to the incident, PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) confirmed that its staff acted quickly to provide aid to a passenger experiencing seizures and vomiting on Monday (8/6) night. Ayu Wardhani, Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department at Transjakarta, stated that passenger safety and comfort are the company’s top priorities. Consequently, field officers responded immediately upon receiving reports regarding the passenger’s condition.
“Transjakarta ensures that field staff moved quickly to provide first aid and coordinated with relevant parties,” Ayu said in a statement on Tuesday (9/6).
According to Ayu, staff at the TransJ Trikora Bus Stop in the Jalan Raya Bogor, Rambutan, Ciracas area provided initial handling and coordinated with a medical team from RS Harapan Bunda to ensure the passenger received necessary medical assistance as quickly as possible.
“Safety and comfort of our customers are our main priorities. Transjakarta highly appreciates the alertness of the staff at the Trikora Bus Stop, who immediately responded to the report and coordinated with the medical team from RS Harapan Bunda to handle the passenger,” she added.
Transjakarta also expressed appreciation to other passengers who assisted by reporting the incident. Rapid reporting by fellow commuters was noted to have helped accelerate the handling process at the scene.
Transjakarta expressed its hopes for the swift recovery of the passenger. Furthermore, the company urged all passengers to immediately report to staff if they experience or witness any emergency conditions while using Transjakarta services.
