Transjakarta 'Skyline' Corridor Diverted Due to Footbridge Demolition

Transjakarta routes 13B (Puri Beta-Pancoran) and L13E (Puri Beta-Flyover Kuningan), known as the ‘Jalur Langit’ (Skyline), experienced diversions on Tuesday due to traffic jams resulting from the demolition of a footbridge (JPO) near Jalan Kapten Tendean, South Jakarta. The operator announced on its X account that the temporary rerouting was necessary because of congestion caused by the demolition work. Buses heading towards Puri Beta were temporarily not serving the Tegal Mampang bus stop. Additionally, the Corridor 13 route from Tegal Mampang to Ciledug was temporarily shortened to Rawa Barat-Ciledug. The footbridge was nearly destroyed after being struck by a crane truck. While the truck has been evacuated, the demolition process is still ongoing, causing traffic jams across several roads in Jakarta. Kompol Robby Hefados, Head of Sub-Directorate for Traffic at Polda Metro Jaya, reported that traffic congestion occurred on Jalan Sudirman Thamrin from north to south, as well as on Jalan HR Rasuna Said heading towards Jalan Warung Buncit. The SCBD exit towards Jalan Suryo was also heavily congested. He added that Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu experienced jams due to high vehicle volumes during the evening rush hour, with congestion stretching from the Pancoran intersection to Kalibata. Arterial roads heading east remained congested only on the toll road, with traffic flowing relatively smoothly from Cawang to Bekasi.
