Transjakarta Says Greater Jakarta Bus Fare Hike Still Under Discussion

PT Transjakarta has stated that plans to adjust fares for the Transjabodetabek bus service are still under discussion, with no detailed information yet available on the exact amount of the increase for the public transport service connecting Jakarta to its satellite cities.

President Director of PT Transjakarta, Welfizon Yuza, said on Monday (15/6/2026) at the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives building on Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, that discussions are ongoing. He declined to specify the new Transjabodetabek fare, noting that the announcement would be made directly by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.

“It is still under discussion, the Governor (Pramono Anung Wibowo) will announce it later,” Welfizon said.

He explained that the company will gather all input to determine the fare, including studies on the public’s ability and willingness to pay (ATP-WTP). The fiscal condition of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also be taken into consideration.

“There are many things to consider, including fiscal conditions, service, public conditions, ability to pay, and willingness to pay,” Welfizon stated.

Currently, the Transjabodetabek fare is the same as regular Transjakarta buses, at Rp 3,500 per passenger. Regarding circulating information that the fare would range from Rp 10,000 to Rp 15,000, Welfizon confirmed that no decision has been made and discussions on the fare adjustment are continuing.
