Transjakarta Routes Diverted Amid Student Protests in Central Jakarta

A number of Transjakarta services have been diverted and adjusted due to the closure of several roads in the area of the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout and the DPR/MPR RI building. The road closures were implemented in connection with a student protest on Friday (12/6/2026).

Head of Transjakarta’s Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, stated that several routes are temporarily unable to operate normally due to traffic diversions.

Affected routes include 1N (Tanah Abang–Blok M) and 1P (Senen–Blok M), which are temporarily not serving passengers due to road closures around the HI roundabout. Additionally, route 4C (JIEP–Bundaran Senayan) has been shortened to JIEP–TL Graha Mandiri Imam Bonjol because of closures in the Sudirman-Thamrin area.

Corridor 1 (Blok M–Kota) has also been diverted via Corridor 9 and is temporarily not serving the Kebon Sirih to Polda Metro Jaya bus stops. Meanwhile, Corridor 9 (Pinang Ranti–Pluit) is experiencing service adjustments due to traffic congestion around the DPR/MPR RI building. For the Pluit direction, some buses continue to serve all stops, while others are diverted via the Petamburan toll road and do not serve the Gerbang Pemuda and Petamburan stops.

Route 8N (Kebayoran–Petamburan via Asia Afrika) has also been shortened. In the Slipi direction, buses are not serving the Istora Senayan bus stop to the Slipi bus stop. In the Kebayoran direction, buses are not serving the Riset BPK bus stop to the Istora Senayan bus stop.

Route 6B (Ragunan–Balai Kota via Semanggi) has undergone a route change. For the Balai Kota direction, buses are diverted through the Petamburan area, but all bus stops are still being served.

Route 9D (Pasar Minggu–Tanah Abang) has been temporarily diverted due to road closures in the Sudirman-Thamrin area. For the Tanah Abang direction, the service is not serving the Bendungan Hilir to Pospol Jati Bunder bus stops. In the Pasar Minggu direction, it is not serving the Jembatan Serong to Bendungan Hilir bus stops.

‘Passengers can get updated information on the TJ:Transjakarta app and Transjakarta social media,’ said Ayu.

Meanwhile, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, via its X account @TMCPoldaMetro, reported that traffic flow on Jalan Sudirman-Semanggi heading towards the HI roundabout is being diverted via Jalan Gatot Subroto towards the Kuningan area due to the protest taking place nearby.
