TransJakarta Queues Stretch as Cikini Building Fire Disrupts Traffic
Long queues of TransJakarta buses formed as a result of a building fire on Jalan Cikini Raya, Central Jakarta. Traffic heading towards Cikini was closed off due to the incident. At 4.36 pm WIB, eight TransJakarta buses were seen queuing along the road, unable to proceed towards Cikini. Traffic in the area was heavily congested. Police officers, Transportation Agency (Dishub) officials, and local residents were stationed at the intersection leading to Cikini, informing passing motorists that the road was closed and they had to turn back. Residents gathered at the roadside to watch the fire. A firefighter was also seen receiving medical treatment, with medical personnel administering oxygen. The fire department received the report at 2.45 pm WIB and began firefighting operations at 2.52 pm WIB. A total of 70 personnel and 18 fire engines were deployed. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
