Transjakarta prioritises service transformation in 2027
Jakarta - PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) prioritises service and operational transformation in 2027 through digitalisation, strengthened corporate governance, and sustainability principles.
“Focus on service and operational transformation through digitalisation and strengthened corporate governance,” said PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) Managing Director Welfizon Yuza in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He said Transjakarta is also preparing to optimise both physical and non-physical assets, including the Open Top Tour of Jakarta, Jakarta Skyfan Run, and activation of iconic bus stops.
“The programme we will implement is the optimisation of physical and non-physical asset usage,” said Welfizon.
The transformation of Transjakarta’s services, he said, is also a response to a proposal from the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives’ Commission C, which requested that PT Transjakarta find new breakthroughs to reduce the subsidy burden from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
Previously, Commission C Chairman Dimaz Raditya said the public still requires public transport subsidies. However, Transjakarta must strengthen innovation to prevent the APBD subsidy burden from growing.
“I challenged Transjakarta’s managing director to present good ideas or programmes to reduce the still-high subsidy amount,” said Dimaz.
He also hopes for strengthened non-farebox revenue strategies. This way, Transjakarta’s service quality can be maintained without relying entirely on APBD subsidies.
“Subsidy reductions must not diminish benefits to the public, so that citizens are not burdened,” Dimaz said.
He further noted the need to carefully consider Transjakarta fare increases, as the public’s economic situation has not fully stabilised.
He stressed that fare increases are not a final decision and are merely one option to reduce the subsidy burden.
