Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) plans to carry out a revitalisation of Mikrotrans or JakLingko conductors to improve the quality of drivers and the comfort of users. “One of our focuses is to carry out a revitalisation of conductors in Mikrotrans. From the process we went through yesterday, there are 125 people who will be placed,” said Transjakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza in Central Jakarta on Friday (27/3). He said that the Transjakarta Academy programme is also continuing to run, including for Mikrotrans conductors. Through the academy, drivers are expected to improve their competency quality so that services to users also become better. “Today, we continue to progress. This is a collaborative programme of the DKI Provincial Government, Transjakarta, and Baznas, where in this programme, the driving licence and its certification are paid for by Transjakarta through CSR,” Welfizon explained. As is known, Transjakarta Academy is an official vocational training institution (LPK) established by PT Transportasi Jakarta to educate, train, and enhance the competencies of conductors and staff in order to create safe, comfortable, and professional public transportation services. In addition to technical skills, the academy also teaches soft skills, including effective communication, stress management, and driving ethics. Transjakarta Academy instructors come from experienced practitioners, including traffic safety experts and transportation psychologists. Each participant will receive a competency certificate recognised by the Ministry of Transportation, which can open up broader career opportunities. In addition to the conductor revitalisation, Welfizon mentioned that his side is also preparing 20 of the best conductors to be sent to Japan through Transjakarta Academy. According to him, the dispatch to Japan aims for the conductors to have new knowledge and standards that can be applied in Indonesia. Not only that, the dispatch can also serve as motivation for conductors that the profession is not just about being a driver, but also has a good future.
