Transjakarta Operates Special Bus Service Between Bekasi Timur Station and Bekasi Station
PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is operating a shuttle bus service to transport passengers affected by the KRL journey disruptions due to a train accident at Bekasi Timur Station.
The service, at normal fares, is specifically provided to facilitate passengers stranded at Bekasi Timur Station to continue their journey to Bekasi Station.
PT KAI previously announced that KRL operations at Bekasi Timur Station have been temporarily halted. This policy was taken as a result of the evacuation process following the accident involving the KA Argo Bromo and KRL Commuter Line.
“Departures from Bekasi Timur Station to Bekasi Station. Transjakarta is deploying 4 bus units functioning specifically as shuttles,” said the Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department of Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, in a written statement on Tuesday (28/4).
She stated that the fleet is fully prepared to assist passenger mobility during the ongoing rail evacuation process.
“The entire Transjakarta management also expresses condolences for the incident that occurred. We hope the evacuation process in the field runs smoothly, safely, and without obstacles, and that all affected parties are granted strength and resilience,” she said.
KAI previously confirmed that 240 passengers from the Argo Bromo Anggrek train were safe and have been evacuated from the accident site, which also involved a KRL Commuter Line at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi, West Java, on Monday (27/4) night.
Meanwhile, a total of 38 KRL Commuter Line passengers have been evacuated and received treatment at hospitals.
The death toll from the incident has risen to five people. There are still three victims trapped.
“The latest update on casualties: five dead. Approximately three still trapped. And 79 under observation in hospitals. There are nine hospitals,” said KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin to reporters at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi City, West Java, on Tuesday (28/4) early morning, quoted from detik.
