Transjakarta Opens Special CFD Route from Senayan to Ancol, Fare Rp3,500
Transjakarta has opened a special route connecting the Bundaran Senayan area with Ancol, North Jakarta, during every Car Free Day (CFD) on Sundays, with a fare of Rp3,500.
However, at the inaugural launch on Sunday at Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta, the public received a special fare of Rp1.
“TransJakarta from Bundaran Senayan to Ancol for today is Rp1, but once it is running, it will use the regular fare, which is Rp3,500,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at the launch of the Transjakarta Senayan-Ancol route at Bundaran HI, Jakarta, on Sunday.
The service was opened to provide a public transport alternative for people who are active during CFD.
Meanwhile, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency Budi Awaluddin said the Transjakarta service for the special HBKB Ancol route is a satellite service that only operates every Sunday during the implementation of HBKB.
The service operates from 06.00 to 10.00 WIB, connecting Bundaran Senayan and Bundaran Symphony of the Sea in the Ancol area.
The special route has a track length of approximately 34.9 kilometres with 18 stopping points and a travel time of around 142 minutes for one round trip.
“This service uses seven electric buses of the EV High-Deck type with a headway of every 15 to 20 minutes,” said Budi.
The route covers Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Ir. H Juanda, Jalan Gunung Sahari, Jalan RE Martadinata, up to Jalan Ancol and ends at Bundaran Symphony of the Sea.
Budi expressed hope that the presence of the special route would provide convenience for people who wish to go to the Ancol area after or during CFD activities. The public does not need to use private vehicles because a direct service is available from the Bundaran Senayan area.
In addition to the special transport service, the Jakarta Provincial Government is also providing a facility in the form of free entry to the Ancol area for passengers using the Transjakarta service.
Budi said Transjakarta passengers arriving at Ancol do not need to pay the area entrance ticket. Transjakarta buses can enter the Ancol area directly so that passengers can continue their activities inside the recreational area.
“For Ancol, it will be free. So, the TransJakarta goes directly into Ancol and there is no need to be asked about the ticket,” Budi explained.
After entering the Ancol area, he said, the public can also use the opportunity to explore and access various areas within the complex.
