Transjakarta Lane Separators Temporarily Shifted on Jalan Gatot Subroto Due to Road and Pavement Revitalisation
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has temporarily removed the separator for the Transjakarta bus lane, or busway, on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Pancoran, South Jakarta. The move was made due to ongoing road and pavement revitalisation works.
detikcom monitoring on Wednesday (19/8/2026) at 17.00 WIB showed the pavement project still under construction on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Pancoran, in the direction of Tebet. Two pieces of heavy equipment were seen working on the pavement project.
The project has taken up part of the road surface on Jalan Gatot Subroto. The busway separator has been shifted to the right side, near the barrier fence of the Jakarta Inner City Toll Road.
The busway separator on Jalan Gatot Subroto from Pancoran towards Kuningan has also been removed. Regular vehicles are now able to use the busway lane. Transjakarta buses heading into Pancoran Bus Stop were seen having to take turns with other vehicles.
A resident, Nadya, said she hoped the pavement project at the location would be completed soon. She admitted to feeling worried because she has to walk along the edge of Jalan Gatot Subroto while the project is underway.
“My hope is that the project can be sped up, and perhaps the project doesn’t take up too much land,” Nadya said.
Previously, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) temporarily shifted the barrier between the Transjakarta lane and the general traffic lane on Jalan Gatot Subroto due to road revitalisation and a pavement project. Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Budi Awaludin said the separator would be returned to its original position once all work is completed.
“The shifting of this separator is being carried out temporarily to provide space for the works while adjusting traffic management at the location. The implementation is being done in stages and will continue to be adjusted to conditions on the ground so that vehicle movement can still be properly managed,” Budi said in a statement on Wednesday (19/8).
Budi explained that works are taking place on both the north and south sides of Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto. On the north side, the DKI Jakarta Highways Agency is carrying out pavement construction and improvement along with complementary structures, including drainage.
Meanwhile, on the south side, road maintenance works are being carried out in the form of hotmix resurfacing. During the works, Transjakarta buses in the area affected by the traffic management will share lanes with other vehicles.
