Transjakarta Introduces Children to Public Transport Ecosystem on National Children's Day
Transjakarta introduced children to the operational aspects of public transport, from drivers and mechanics to customer service officers and schedulers, in commemoration of National Children’s Day (HAN) 2026. “We ensure that Transjakarta provides a public transport ecosystem that is safe, inclusive, and friendly for children and families. Children are the torchbearers of the future, and creating a good environment for their growth and development is our shared responsibility,” said Transjakarta’s Director of Finance, Human Resources, and General Affairs, Mayangsari Dian Irwantari, in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday. The activity, part of the annual programme “Merakids 2026: Play, Learn, and Adventure”, was attended by 80 children of Transjakarta employees aged between 4 and 12 years. During the event, participants were taken on a tour using a Transjakarta bus while learning to recognise traffic signs, aiming to instil an understanding and culture of safe public transport use from an early age. To provide a joyful experience, the children also engaged in various fun and creative activities, such as making artwork and participating in a market day. “We believe that a family that grows happily and supports each other is the foundation of a strong work spirit. We hope today’s activity becomes a moment to strengthen the quality of togetherness between parents and children in playing and learning together,” Dian said.
