Transjakarta increases transport services to tourist destinations during Eid al-Fitr

Jakarta — PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) will increase transport services to and from strategic tourist destinations in Jakarta during Eid al-Fitr. Chief Executive Welfizon Yuza said the expansion was in response to potential increases in the number of visitors to tourist sites during the holiday period. ‘The places that are always quite busy are usually on the second day. On the third day of Eid al-Fitr it is Ragunan. Because it is quite affordable, and its capacity is large,’ he said when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday. Currently, the company is examining alternative routes so they can directly head to Ragunan (the Zoo). One option is that Corridor 13 could be directed straight to Ragunan. ‘So, what we are anticipating are routes that have many tourist points,’ he added. The exact number of additional services is still being adjusted according to visitor numbers during the holiday period. According to Yuza, transport demand generally decreases during Eid al-Fitr holidays, so certain routes can be redirected directly to tourist destinations. ‘The additions are, of course, very situational. So, we can allocate to routes that require it, at the tourist sites,’ he said.
