Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Transjakarta is implementing a seat reservation system for the Royaltrans service specifically in the Cibubur, Bekasi, and Cinere areas at departure locations while seats remain available in the buses from 16 to 24 April 2026. “Our field staff are assisting customers with bookings (via the app) on site,” said Head of Public Relations and CSR at PT Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, in Jakarta on Thursday. In addition to on-site booking, prospective passengers can also reserve seats through the TJ:Transjakarta app. Ayu stated that Transjakarta is adding personnel at departure points for the next two weeks to help prospective passengers with downloading the TJ:Transjakarta app, activating digital payment methods, and educating them on direct seat booking. This policy follows the implementation of the seat booking system for the Royaltrans service on the Cibubur-Balai Kota route on Wednesday (15/4), which was deemed not conducive, including issues with passenger flow management. Furthermore, passenger flow arrangements were considered suboptimal, leading to build-ups. “Regarding the implementation of the Royaltrans seat booking system on new routes starting 15 April 2026, we apologise for the inconvenience that occurred on site,” Ayu said. She explained that the seat reservation system implementation is an innovation introduced to provide seat certainty and a more comfortable, assured, and planned travel experience for passengers.
