Transjakarta Fare Hike Planned, Including Transjabodetabek Services
The Jakarta Transportation Council (DTKJ) has conducted a study regarding the planned fare increase for Transjakarta services, including Transjabodetabek. The council has also held a public dialogue on the proposed tariff adjustment. DTKJ Chairman Sugiharjo stated that a fare adjustment is likely for Transjakarta services operating within the city and those serving Jakarta’s buffer zones. This is because the Transjakarta fare has not seen an increase for more than 20 years. “In this case, we at DTKJ have also conducted a study and yesterday, led by the Head of the Transportation Agency, we held a public dialogue. So there will be a fare adjustment for both the Jakarta city area and the Greater Jakarta area,” he said at the DKI Jakarta City Hall on Friday (3/7/2026). The current fare for Transjakarta services is Rp 3,500. This fare also applies to Transjabodetabek, which serves routes from Jakarta to several buffer zones, including Soekarno-Hatta Airport. “We are pushing for a fare adjustment, but it must be balanced with an improvement in service quality. We have already proposed this,” Sugiharjo said.
