Transjakarta Fare Hike Planned, Including Transjabodetabek Services

The Jakarta City Transport Council (DTKJ) has conducted a study regarding the planned fare increase for Transjakarta services, including the Transjabodetabek routes. Furthermore, the council has held public dialogues concerning the proposed tariff adjustment.

DTKJ Chairman Sugiharjo stated that there will likely be an adjustment to Transjakarta service fares for both within the city and those operating to Jakarta’s satellite regions. This is due to the fact that Transjakarta fares have not undergone an increase for more than 20 years.

“In this matter, we at the DTKJ have conducted an assessment, and yesterday, led by the Head of the Transportation Agency, we held a public dialogue. There will be a tariff adjustment for both the Jakarta metropolitan area and the Jabodetabek region,” he said at the Jakarta City Hall on Friday (3/7/2026).

Currently, the applicable fare for Transjakarta services is Rp 3,500. This rate also applies to Transjabodetabek, which serves journeys from Jakarta to several satellite areas, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

“We are pushing for this tariff adjustment, but it must be balanced with an improvement in service quality. We have already proposed this,” added Sugiharjo.
