Transjakarta explains row involving a BRT driver and electric-car owner
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Transjakarta has disclosed the chronology of the dispute between a BRT driver and the owner of an electric car on Jalan Panjang, Kelapa Dua Sasak, West Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/3).
“Benar, kami mengkonfirmasi bahwa itu adalah pramudi operator BMP 240369, rute koridor 8 (Lebak Bulus - Pasar Baru),” said Ayu Wardhani, Head of CSR and Public Relations at Transjakarta, when contacted in Jakarta on Thursday.
She explained that initial findings show the altercation was not triggered by a collision as suggested by the viral video, but because the private vehicle entered the bus lane and endangered the bus journey.
“From the initial investigation, the incident began when the vehicle entered the bus lane. The pramudi manoeuvred to avoid a collision, then halted the bus to communicate with the driver,” she said.
Wardhani added that, during the exchange, the private car driver had already moved back onto the regular lane.
“We do not condone the pramudi’s rude behaviour. All pramudi are required to maintain professionalism and road etiquette under any circumstances,” she said.
As a follow-up to the incident, Transjakarta is processing the involved official to obtain further statements.
“We are currently conducting an investigation and internal coaching. If SOP violations are proven, the driver will face strict sanctions,” she said.
Earlier, a video posted on Instagram account @warga.jakbar showed a pramudi in full uniform approaching an electric car positioned beside the busway separator. The driver even placed his hand inside the car when the driver rolled down the window, before stepping back and the electric car drove away from the scene.
