Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) has equipped its fleet drivers with a dedicated communications channel (hotline) to report emergency conditions in the field and convey operational obstacles and safety issues quickly.

Welfizon Yuza, Chief Executive of PT Transportasi Jakarta, stated that the communications channel also functions to accelerate management’s response to situations on routes.

“The introduction of this hotline is expected to provide a sense of safety and full support for drivers whilst on duty at the front line,” Welfizon said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

He noted that with the achievement of 413 million customers throughout 2025, Transjakarta bears a great responsibility as Indonesia’s largest public transport ecosystem.

According to him, safety is not merely an operational target but also a value, culture, and moral responsibility to the public.

“Every incident must not remain merely a statistic; it must become a catalyst for process improvement and strengthening of standards that address the root causes of problems,” said Welfizon.

He also emphasised that drivers are the principal decision-makers in the field. Therefore, he urged Transjakarta fleet drivers to prioritise honesty in their work.

“Honesty regarding physical condition, vehicle condition, and reporting potential hazards,” Welfizon stated.
