Transjakarta Driver Loses Temper at Car Driver Who Breached the Busway in West Jakarta
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — A Transjakarta bus driver (conductor) argued with a driver of a white electric car on Jalan Panjang, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, drawing attention as the conductor appeared to erupt with emotion in the middle of the road. The Transjakarta conductor, wearing a full uniform with a blazer, looked highly emotional. He approached the car, repeatedly pointing at the driver inside whose windows were tightly closed, while delivering stern admonitions. The conductor’s anger escalated when the car driver opened his window. The conductor briefly reached into the car cabin before stepping back and allowing the electric car to drive away. “In response to the incident circulating on social media, involving a bus driver on Lebak Bulus – Pasar Baru route (Corridor 8) and a private car driver in the Kelapa Dua Sasak area, on Wednesday (4/3), PT Transjakarta confirmed that the driver involved was BMP 240369, on Corridor 8 (Lebak Bulus - Pasar Baru),” Ayu said in a statement to Kompas.com on Thursday, 5 March 2026. Ayu clarified the initial narrative circulating on social media that the altercation was triggered by a collision between an electric bus and an electric car. She stressed that the incident occurred due to lane infringement by the private car driver, nearly causing an accident. “From the preliminary checks we have obtained, the incident began when the private vehicle entered the busway. The conductor manoeuvred to avoid a collision, then halted the bus to communicate with the driver,” Ayu said. At the time of the heated exchange, the private car driver had actually returned to the regular lane. However, the conductor, who had nearly had an accident, became emotional and vented his frustration at the driver.
