Transjakarta Driver in Dispute with Car Driver Allegedly Entering Bus Lane in West Jakarta
A video showing a dispute between a Transjakarta bus pramudi and a private electric-car driver on Jalan Panjang, Kelapa Dua Sasak, West Jakarta, on Wednesday 4 March 2026, circulated on social media. In the clip posted by Instagram account @warga.jakbar, a pramudi in full uniform wearing a coat approaches a white electric car beside the busway separator. The pramudi appears highly emotional. With hands on hips, he repeatedly points at the driver. Ayu Wardhani, Head of CSR and Communications at Transjakarta, confirmed the pramudi in the video is a Transjakarta employee. “In response to the widely publicised incident on social media, between a pramudi on the Lebak Bulus–Pasar Baru route (Koridor 8) and a private car driver in the Kelapa Dua Sasak area on Wednesday 4 March, PT Transjakarta confirms that it was the pramudi of BMP 240369, route Koridor 8 (Lebak Bulus-Pasar Baru),” Ayu said in a statement to Kompas.com on Thursday 5 March 2026. Ayu explained that, based on initial checks, the dispute was not triggered by a collision as circulating in the video. According to her, the incident began when the private vehicle entered the busway and endangered the bus. “From the initial checks, the incident began when the private vehicle entered the busway. The pramudi manoeuvred to avoid a clash, then stopped the bus to communicate with the driver,” Ayu said. Ayu added that during the heated exchange, the private driver had already left the busway. “Transjakarta does not condone the actions of the pramudi involved in the quarrel and rough conduct. All pramudi must maintain professionalism and road ethics in all circumstances,” Ayu stressed. As a follow-up, Transjakarta will request further statements from the pramudi. “At present we are conducting an investigation and internal coaching. If a SOP breach is proven, the pramudi will receive strict sanctions,” Ayu concluded.
