TransJakarta Driver Goes Viral for Reckless Driving, Sudden Braking Causes Passengers to Fall
Passengers of TransJakarta have complained about the driving manner of a bus driver on Corridor 2 (Monas-Pulogadung route), bus code TJ0205, who is accused of driving recklessly. The driver reportedly braked suddenly, causing several passengers to fall.
The complaint was shared via the @Music_Cadas and @RadioElshinta accounts on X. In the post, the account stated that the bus was driven at what was deemed an uncontrollable speed, including performing sudden braking during the journey.
“Throughout the journey, the driver drove the bus recklessly, increasing speed uncontrollably through gaps in vehicles and frequently braking suddenly,” the account wrote on Friday (11/9).
According to the uploader, the most severe incident occurred at the intersection beneath the Senen flyover, before the Toyota Rangga stop. The extreme braking caused passengers in the bus’s articulation area to fall, with some female passengers reportedly hitting the floor.
The uploader also mentioned that some passengers were knocked down by others due to the sudden braking.
Beyond the driving manner, the uploader also accused the driver of failing to provide clarification after the bus arrived at the Toyota Rangga stop. According to the report, several passengers disembarked to seek an explanation, but the driver allegedly refused to leave the bus or show identification.
The uploader further highlighted that the bus reportedly began moving again before the doors were fully closed. They assessed that such conditions pose a potential danger to passenger safety and called for action against the driver.
TransJakarta responded to the complaint through its official X account, @PT_Transjakarta. In its response, TransJakarta apologised for the incident experienced by the passengers and stated that the report has been forwarded to the relevant unit for investigation and follow-up.
“Hi, we apologise for the incident experienced. The report has been forwarded to the relevant unit for checking and follow-up under report number TJ-TICO9260009347,” the company stated.
TransJakarta also inquired about the condition of the passengers and requested confirmation if there were any injuries. Passengers were asked to contact them via direct message (DM) and provide an active WhatsApp number for the follow-up process.
The complaint also caught the attention of the Deputy Coordinator of the Jakarta Governor’s Special Staff, Prastowo Yustinus, who provided a brief response under the X post.
“It will be evaluated by management,” wrote Prastowo.
As of the time of this report, there has been no further information regarding the results of the investigation into the driver of bus TJ0205 or the condition of the passengers who reportedly fell.
