A video circulating on social media shows several passengers in a dispute with a Transjakarta driver. The prevailing narrative suggests that passengers were aggrieved because the driver was driving recklessly, causing several passengers to fall inside the bus.

The Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, Ayu Wardman, acknowledged that the incident took place but refuted the claims of reckless driving mentioned in various social media videos.

“It was not reckless driving; the braking was performed because a motorcycle suddenly cut across the lane,” she stated when confirmed on Saturday (12/09/2026).

She explained that the incident occurred near the Senen Toyota Rangga bus stop on Friday (11/09/2026) evening. At that time, the driver performed sudden braking as a reflexive action to avoid a collision with a two-wheeled vehicle that had abruptly cut into the path.

“Our officers on the ground immediately checked on the condition of the passengers. All passengers within the vehicle have been confirmed safe and sustained no injuries,” said Ayu.

She added that she had reviewed the CCTV footage related to the incident. She ensured that all procedures were followed according to standard protocols, as the driver acted promptly to brake.

According to her, Transjakarta remains focused on the safety, security, and comfort of all passengers in every service provided. She also expressed an apology to the passengers for the inconvenience caused.

“Transjakarta apologises for the inconvenience experienced by our customers,” she concluded.
