Transjakarta Confirms Passenger Defecated Inside Bus, Fleet Undergoing Thorough Cleaning

An incident involving a passenger defecating inside a Transjakarta bus on Route 6C (Tebet Station-Kuningan) has gone viral on social media. The incident reportedly occurred twice during a single journey.

Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, confirmed the incident took place on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

“Transjakarta offers its deepest apologies for the inconvenience experienced by customers on the 6C route on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, due to an incident involving a passenger defecating inside bus operator JDM 240090,” she stated on Friday (2 October 2026).

According to Wardhani, Transjakarta has withdrawn the bus unit from service to undergo a thorough cleaning process. This ensures the bus is fully sanitised before being returned to operation.

“As a rapid response, the affected fleet was immediately withdrawn from operation to undergo a deep cleaning and sterilisation process before resuming service,” she added.
