TransJakarta Bus Crashes into Separator on MT Haryono, No Passengers On Board
A TransJakarta bus was involved in an accident, crashing into a busway separator at the Cikoko bus stop on Jalan MT Haryono, East Jakarta. TransJakarta confirmed that no passengers were on board at the time of the incident.
“We can confirm there were no customers on the bus when the incident occurred. The bus hit a concrete separator while en route to its starting point for service,” said Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR at TransJakarta, in a statement on Monday (22/6/2026).
The incident took place around 06:50 WIB. Evacuation efforts were completed by 08:20 WIB. “Evacuation was finished by 08:20, and services at Cikoko and Tebet Eco Park bus stops have resumed normal operations serving customers,” Ayu explained.
The cause of the accident remains unknown. Ayu stated that an investigation is currently underway. “Regarding the cause of the incident, it is still under internal investigation and being handled by the authorities,” she said.
Ayu also apologised for the accident, which caused traffic congestion during the morning rush hour. “TransJakarta apologises for the single-vehicle accident involving an MYS operator bus (body number 19216) at Cikoko heading towards Pluit on Monday (22/6) morning, which triggered traffic congestion,” she concluded.
Earlier, the Traffic Management Centre of the Metro Jaya Regional Police reported congestion in the Halim Baru area heading towards Pancoran as of 06:50 WIB. The traffic jam began on Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo and Jalan DI Panjaitan towards Jalan MT Haryono in the direction of Pancoran that morning, caused by the TransJakarta bus hitting the busway separator.
TransJakarta had previously announced delays to its fleet on several corridors—7, 9, 10—and routes including 4K, 5C, 7D, 7P, 7W, 9A, 9C, B11, B21, B41, B51, D11, JAK 20, and JAK 75 due to congestion around the Cawang Sentral bus stop. However, the operator has since confirmed that its buses are now running normally. “Corridor 9, Routes 4K, 7D, 9A, and 9C at Cikoko and Tebet Eco Park bus stops are now operating normally again, serving customers without diversion,” TransJakarta stated via its official X account @PT_Transjakarta.
