Transjakarta bus crashes into separator on MT Haryono, driver injured

A Transjakarta bus with registration number B-7190-TGD was involved in a single-vehicle accident after hitting a busway lane separator on Jalan Letjen MT Haryono, Cikoko, South Jakarta, on Monday morning.

Head of the Traffic Law Enforcement Sub-directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ojo Ruslani, stated that the incident occurred at 05:10 WIB in the westbound direction, in front of Menara Hijau. “Prior to the accident, the Mayasari bus was travelling from east to west on Jalan Letjen MT Haryono. Upon reaching the scene in front of Menara Hijau, Cikoko, it is suspected that due to a lack of caution and concentration, the vehicle struck the busway separator on its left side,” Ojo said.

The driver, identified as Danang Prasetya A, 34, a resident of Cijantung, East Jakarta, suffered bruising to the forehead and a laceration near the left eye. He was evacuated to Tebet Hospital for medical treatment, and a visum et repertum (medicolegal report) has been requested.

Ojo added that the driver is suspected of violating Article 106 and Article 283 in conjunction with Article 310 paragraph (2) of Law Number 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transport. The Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate has processed the scene, secured the bus as evidence, and managed traffic flow to restore normal conditions. The single-vehicle accident case is now under further investigation by the directorate.
