“We apologise for the inconvenience,” said Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR at PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta), to reporters on Thursday (7/5/2026). Ayu explained that her team is currently addressing the matter. She mentioned that they are coordinating with relevant parties to follow up on the condition of the extinguished lights. “At the moment, we are coordinating with relevant parties to resolve the situation,” she said. As previously reported, the Kebayoran skywalk was pitch black due to the lights being out. One resident, Yulida, admitted to having to walk slowly to avoid bumping into people or objects around the location. According to her, several other users also took the initiative to turn on their torches for illumination. “Someone said ‘turn on the torch, it’s already dark’ like that,” said Yulida when contacted on Thursday (7/5/2026). Yulida admitted to having brushed against another user and nearly hit the skywalk’s ceiling, which is low in position, due to the minimal lighting. She said the extinguished lights were only in the skywalk area, while the lights at Velbak Bus Stop and Kebayoran Station were still on normally. “I almost crashed into that ceiling, you know, some parts are low,” she said.
