Transjakarta Adds New Route to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang City
Transjakarta has officially launched a new route to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang City, Banten, with the inauguration of the Transjabodetabek SH2 Blok M - Soekarno-Hatta Airport line by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at Blok M Terminal in Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
This brings to five the total number of new Transjakarta routes that have been launched recently, joining the previously announced Poris Plawad – Petamburan, Poris Plawad – Juanda, Ciledug – Tegal Mampang, Puri Beta – Pancoran, and Puri Beta – Flyover Kuningan lines.
Tangerang Mayor H. Sachrudin, who attended the inauguration ceremony, expressed his appreciation for the new route, noting that it will significantly improve public access to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, particularly for homebound travellers heading to the airport ahead of the forthcoming Eid exodus.
“This will certainly enrich and facilitate access for residents of the Jabodetabek region to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport located in Tangerang City,” Sachrudin said.
Sachrudin also expressed hope that the new route would help alleviate congestion to and from Tangerang. He noted that in the mornings, many Tangerang residents travel to the capital for work, and Tangerang serves as a major transit corridor for multiple routes, including the Jakarta-Merak toll road, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and national roads such as Jalan Daan Mogot and Jalan Gatot Subroto.
“We hope that with the launch of the Transjabodetabek Blok M - Soekarno-Hatta Airport line, we can minimise congestion,” Sachrudin stated.
Sachrudin also affirmed that Tangerang City Government is prepared to support the development of transport connectivity in the Jabodetabek agglomeration region, including through collaboration with the central government, provincial government, and transport operators.
“Therefore, we continue to encourage cross-regional collaboration so that the public transport system becomes more integrated, thereby providing wider benefits to the community,” he explained.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that during the initial three-month trial period, fares on this route will be set at IDR 3,500 per trip. “Particularly in welcoming Eid and during the three-month trial period, the Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to evaluate the fare structure,” Pramono stated.
The Transjabodetabek SH2 Blok M - Soekarno-Hatta Airport route will stop at 23 points with a journey duration of approximately 121 minutes. The route covers a distance of more than 65.1 kilometres, with a fleet of 14 buses operating at intervals of between 10 and 20 minutes.
