Transjabodetabek Blok M–Soetta Set to Begin Operations Before Eid al-Fitr, Aiming at Air Passengers
The Jakarta Provincial Government is continuing preparations to open the Transjabodetabek route from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta). The new route is planned to begin operations before Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. Welfizon Yuza, Chief Executive of PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta), said the new Transjabodetabek route is intended to facilitate people travelling by air from that international airport. Therefore, the new route is targeted to operate before Eid al-Fitr, when many people travel by air for balik kampung. ‘The target is for the exodus, so before Eid al-Fitr. We are chasing it,’ he said, quoted by Republika, on Wednesday (4 March 2026). He added that Transjabodetabek Blok M–Soetta will be dedicated to serving air passengers. Therefore, they will use low-entry buses to serve the route. ‘The units we will use are low-entry units. So the orange Metrotrans with low floors, which will make it easier to move luggage and so on,’ said Welfizon. He added that the buses will stop at roadside stops, not at Transjakarta BRT stops. This will make it easier for people with large luggage. Welfizon noted that the new Transjabodetabek route will depart from Blok M. The bus will then traverse Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, pass Semanggi, the DPR/MPR building, and then enter the tol road to reach the airport. ‘Now we have SH1, from Kalideres to the airport. For the one we are preparing now, from Blok M to the airport (SH2), Blok M, then via Sudirman, then up to Semanggi, to MPR/DPR, then into the tol road,’ he said.
