Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soetta Route to be Inaugurated This Week, Here are the Fares
Jakarta’s provincial government plans to inaugurate the Transjabodetabek route from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) this week. The new route is expected to facilitate residents wishing to travel by air from the airport in Tangerang.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung confirmed that he has set the inauguration date for the Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soetta route. He stated that the new route will officially commence operations on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
“We will inaugurate the Transjabodetabek route on 12 March at 9 in the morning,” he said at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
He added that fares for the new Transjabodetabek route are likely to be the same as other Transjakarta services, namely Rp 2,000 from 05:00 to 07:00 and Rp 3,500 from 07:00 to 22:00. However, these fares will only apply until Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.
“Regarding the ticket price, I have not yet decided, but it will be the same as what currently exists until Eid,” he said.
Nevertheless, Pramono left open the possibility of special fares for the Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soetta route after Eid. However, this still requires further assessment.
“Why? Because it turns out there are three stops to the airport, each with associated costs. But at the right time we will decide, and it will certainly be much cheaper compared to other transport or taxis,” he said.
Previously, Welfizon Yuza, Chief Executive of PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta), stated that the new route is intended to facilitate residents wishing to travel by air from the international airport. For this reason, the new route is targeted to operate before Eid, when many residents travel by plane during the exodus. “The target is for the Lebaran exodus, so before Eid. We are pushing to complete it,” he said.
According to him, the Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soetta route will be dedicated to serving air passengers. For this reason, the company will use low-floor buses for this route.
“The units we will use will be low-entry vehicles. So the orange Metrotrans buses with low floors, making it relatively easier for passengers to load luggage and other belongings,” said Welfizon.
He added that buses will stop at roadside stations, not Transjakarta BRT stations. This way, residents carrying large luggage will be more accommodated.
Welfizon stated that the new Transjabodetabek route will depart from Blok M. After that, the bus will travel along Jenderal Sudirman Street, passing through Semanggi, the DPR/MPR Building, and enter the toll road until reaching the airport.
