Transjabodetabek Blok M–Soetta Route Officially Commences Thursday 12 March
The Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed that the Transjabodetabek bus service on the Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) route will be officially launched on Thursday 12 March at 9 a.m.
Governor Pramono Anung announced the date at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday 10 March, stating: “The Transjabodetabek service will be officially inaugurated on 12 March at 9 a.m.”
In preparation for the launch, the Jakarta Provincial Government is continuing to finalise its assessment of fares for the airport route. The assessment takes into account that the route includes several stops that incur additional costs.
However, Pramono assured that temporary ticket prices will not burden passengers, particularly during the period leading up to and throughout the Eid holiday. The temporary fares will follow the standard Transjabodetabek rate of Rp3,500.
“Regarding the ticket price, I have not yet decided, but there will be one, and until after Eid it will be the same as the existing rate,” Pramono said. “Because it turns out that to get to the airport there are three stops that incur additional costs too. But when the time comes, we will decide,” he added.
Whilst the final fare structure remains undecided and is still being calculated, Pramono guaranteed that the airport bus service will become an affordable transport option for the public. “But what is clear is that it will definitely be significantly cheaper compared to other transport options or taxis,” he said.
