Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soekarno Hatta Route Launched with 2-Hour Journey Time and Promotional Fare of Rp3,500
The Jakarta Provincial Government has officially launched the new Transjabodetabek SH2 route serving Blok M to Soekarno Hatta Airport (Soetta).
“Today we are launching something new that has been eagerly anticipated by the public: the official opening of the Transjabodetabek SH2 service from Blok M to Soekarno Hatta Airport,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung whilst inaugurating the new route at Blok M Bus Stop in South Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March.
Pramono stated that for the first three months, coinciding with Idul Fitri celebrations, the Transjabodetabek fare would remain aligned with regular city transport prices before being evaluated gradually.
“For the SH2 Blok M route, the Jakarta Provincial Government has decided that for three months, particularly in anticipation of Idul Fitri, we will maintain the fare at Rp3,500 for these three months,” Pramono said.
Pramono also claimed that the regular fare after the promotional period expires on this route would be significantly lower than alternative airport transport options.
“After that, we will conduct an evaluation, as the operational burden is quite heavy and the subsidies are substantial. We will increase the fare, with a range between Rp10,000 and Rp15,000. We will decide after providing tickets or the route at Rp3,500 for three months,” he explained.
The Jakarta Provincial Government has deployed 14 bus units operating from 05:00 to 22:00 WIB. With this fleet size, passenger waiting time or headway is kept between 10 and 20 minutes, with a travel duration of 121 minutes.
The route will stop at 23 points. The route has a total length of 65.1 kilometres.
