Transitioning to Electric: Logistics Trucks Turn EV, Entrepreneurs Require This Support!
The production capacity of local industries, financing, and the supporting infrastructure for the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem have been identified by the Chairman of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklastic), Moeldoko, as key challenges for Indonesia in developing EVs domestically.
Efforts are required to encourage EV investment and strengthen the EV ecosystem, particularly regarding charging stations and electricity supply, to meet EV demands. This includes achieving the Jakarta Provincial Government’s target of having 10,000 electric buses for TransJakarta by 2030.
Furthermore, government support is needed to strengthen the EV ecosystem for the commercial vehicle segment, including buses, logistics trucks, and mining vehicles, as well as the provision of incentives for this commercial market.
What are the challenges and necessary efforts for Indonesia to expand the electrification of commercial vehicles? For more details, refer to the dialogue between Serliana Salsabila and the Chairman of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo), Moeldoko, on Evening Up, CNBC Indonesia (Tuesday, 22/09/2026).
